Lester Donald Williams, 73 formerly of 177 Austin Springs Road, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Asbury Place, Johnson City. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, son of the late Elmer and Nellie Hodge Williams. He was owner and operator of his Trucking business and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carrie Virginia Johns Williams in 1985 as well as four brothers, Buford, Wayne, Bobby and Jimmy Williams and a sister, Georgia Lee Bacon. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include: two brothers and sister-in-laws, Dewey and Marie Williams and Wesley and Loretta Williams all of Johnson City; two sisters, Linda Sweney and brother-in-law Bob of International Falls, MN and Betty Brown of Johnson City, two sister-in-laws, JoAnn Williams of Johnson City and Geneva Williams of Watagua; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A chapel service will be conducted on Sunday, July 9, 2006 in the mausoleum chapel of the Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Rev. Sam Campbell. The family will receive friends at Morris - Baker Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at which time we will go in procession to the cemetery. Entombment will follow the service in the Hillside Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be: Clinton Williams, Melvin Ray Williams, Ricky Williams, Craig Williams, Terry Cox, Shannon Cox and Buster Hodge. Honorary pallbearers will be: Linda Williams and Trish Whistant.
