Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Linda H. Moody, 70, of Johnson City, departed this life Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center, and now is in the arms of her savior. Mrs. Moody was a Johnson City native who returned home in 1976. She was a daughter of the late Edward G. and Edna Davis. She was a member of Fishery Community Church, Erwin. Along with her husband, she was the owner and operator of Moody Books in Johnson City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine D. Maddox. Survivors include: her husband, Vearl 'Gil' Moody, of the home; four children, Vickie Allison, Chicago, IL, Linda Gaye Cass, New York, Vearl E. Moody, Jr., Bluff City, and Timothy Moody, Lake Placid, NY; brother, Eddie Davis, Jr., Johnson City; two sisters, Sharon Wrinn, and Betty Caraway, both of Johnson City; and four grandchildren. The family of Linda Moody will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the South Chapel. Rev. Rusty Wishon will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 AM Thursday at Monte Vista Memorial Park for committal services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fishery Community Church, 501 Fishery Loop Rd., Erwin, TN 37650.
