Linda Chatman Toney, 70, of Jonesborough, died at the residence of her daughter on Thursday, October 16, 2014. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late James Frank and Mary Kate Carder Chatman. Linda was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, a son, Ronald Toney, her husband, Charles Toney, Sr., a great grandchild, Kiley Garland and three brothers and a sister, preceded her in death. Survivors include: two sons and their wives, Charles Toney, Jr. and Terri of Dallas, NC, Richard Toney and Buffie of Jonesborough; a daughter and son-in-law, Samatha and Jason Chandler of Jonesborough; fifteen grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, J. R. Chatman, Tommy Chatman, Catherine Dye and Carolyn Culberson; special cousin, Mary Anglin and sister-in-law, Lillian Greene; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Cherry Grove Cemetery under the direction of Pastor Jerry Willard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home. A procession will leave to the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Jonesborough at 2:20 pm. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
