Linda Patricia Freeman

May 6, 1960 — March 30, 2010

Mrs. Linda Freeman, 49, 331 Lynn Road, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Gene Lockhart and the late Joan Lockhart. In addition to her mother her sister, Kay King also preceded her in death. Linda was a New Orleans native who moved with her family to Johnson City when she was in the seventh grade. She became a professional hair Stylist who cared very much for her family, and in addition to her own children, always lended a helping hand raising numerous nieces and nephews. Linda had a big heart. An Awesome cook, she always made delicious meals and made sure you had some extra food to take home. She liked spicy food, and at times, her personality was full of spice. If you were sick or if Linda had something you could use, she was always there to share a remedy. Lindas musical favorites were Rock and Roll, her favorite soap opera was, The Young and the Restless. A hard worker, her favorite commercial must have been 'Mr. Clean'? as she was always keeping the house clean and free of germs. As she got older and did family hair cuts, her sense of humor would tell you, right before she started cutting your hair, that her hands were feeling a little shaky that day. During her happiness and her sorrows, her lifes ups and downs, Linda always believed in, and prayed to God. We will all miss Linda, and especially, her heart of Gold. Survivors include: her husband, Joe Freeman II of the home; one son, Terry Rogers; one daughter, Ashley Allen and her husband Brandon; two step-daughters, Hali Freeman and Halston Freeman; two brothers, Gene Lockhart, Jr. and his wife Julie and Paul Lockhart; two sisters, Mary Anne McClain and her husband Bronce and Susan McCloud and her husband Dan; two grandchildren, Dylan Allen and Addisyn Allen; also survived by Gerald and Peggy Rogers and their boys, members of Joe Feemans family, and members of the Mayes and Lockhart family that include numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins located throughout the Southeast. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Linda Freeman will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church. Father Michael Cummins will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Terry Rogers, Thomas Lockhart, Gene Lockhart, Jr., Paul Lockhart, Johnny Rogers and Rick Rogers. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Monday.
