Linda Young

Linda Roddy Young, 76, of Elizabethton, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Hermitage Health Center. She was a native of Knoxville, daughter of the late Carl Henry and Frances Lucretia Card Roddy. Linda was a retired hairdresser. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Jack Nelson of Johnson City. They wish to thank all the kind and loving people at Hermitage who cared for Sissy over the past 12 years. Dr. Clark, the nurses (Misty, Gloria, Monica, Nicki and others) and all the CNAs (too many to mention by name) have provided exceptional care for Linda and treated her like their own family. They were her family, along with Diane and Jack. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 pm. A memorial service is to follow at 7:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Rev. Carol Wilson, Rev. Kathie Wilson-Parker and Rev. Gerald Casson. An innichement is to follow at a later date at Church of Ascension in Knoxville. A special fund has been established for donations for a pink dogwood tree to be planted in memory of Linda.
