Lona Miller

Mrs. Lona Miller, age 95, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Miller was a native of Roaring Fork, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Kissinger and Mary Virginia McPherson Kissinger. In addition to her parents her husband, Stephen Miller; two sisters, Elsie McCoy and Samatha Rose; three brothers, Lama, Virgil and Danie also preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller was a self-employed Beautician. She was a member of Harrison Christian Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mary S. Barnes; four grandchildren, Bobby Barnes, Stephen Barnes, Michael Barnes and Jason Barnes; three great grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Peyton; two great great grandchildren, Ryan and Aliyah; three step-grandchildren; three step- great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Lona Miller will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mr. Bedford Motley will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be David Bradley, Donnie Bradley, Chad Buck, Terry Lee Burger and Chris Jupin. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service.
