Lonnie Don Mulkey

Lonnie Don Mulkey, 63, of Johnson City, TN, began his next journey on August 9, 2011. He was born on July 21, 1948, in Berea, KY. He became a musician during his teenage years while living in California. He played with many different bands during the course of his life and music was an essential part of who he was. He loved a good cigar or pipe. He was also an artist, golfer, real estate developer, entrepreneur, motorcyclist, patriot, comedian and loved playing poker at the Moose. He loved to talk guns with anyone that was interested. He was an all around rock to people who needed him. His word was his bond and his handshake was solid. Life was always an adventure to him. He is survived by wife, Carol; parents, Wilma and Frank Donner, also of Johnson City, TN.; children, Christina Mulkey, Chad Mulkey, Curtis Haynes and Colleen Quinn; grandchildren, Jason, John & Julie Winsby; and great grandson, Brayden Winsby; his beloved dogs, Hank and Maude. He is also survived by a large extended group of family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, William Wallace Mulkey. Visitation will be held at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 E. Oakland Dr., Johnson City, TN 37601 on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
