Mr. Louis Albert Hamly, 83, Johnson City passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Community Living Center, Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN .Mr. Hamly was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was the son of the late Ralph Edward Hamly, Sr. and Oma Clawson Hamly. In addition to his parents one sister, Henrietta Clark also preceded him in death. Mr. Hamly was a WWII US Navy veteran. He was a journeyman pipe fitter for local union 538 for fifty-nine years. He was a member of the Jonesborough Masonic Lodge #129 F&AM. Mr. Hamly was a member of the Telford United Methodist Church where he also served as Trustee for several years. Living family members include: his wife of sixty-one years, Rosa H. Hamly; two brothers, Ralph E. Hamly, Jr. and his wife Ruby of Johnson City and Earl Hamly of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the caregivers at Lakebridge Nursing Home and VA Community Living Center. The funeral service for Mr. Louis Albert Hamly will be conducted at 7 PM Friday, August 27, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Bishop Richard Looney will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Phillip McLain, Troy Arnold, Gary Moore, Denver King, Max Moore Jr, Frank Moore and Honorary pallbearers are Clyde ' Buck' Estep, and Jim Bowman. Naval military honors will be accorded at the graveside. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Saturday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday prior to the service.
