Louise Jenkins Sahlin, 84, of 348 Keefauver Road, Gray, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Nanny Alice Cox Jenkins. Mrs. Sahlin was a homemaker. She was a Charter Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for 47 years. In addition to her parents, one brother, Ben Jenkins, preceded her in death. Survivors include: her husband, Gilmore O. Sahlin, of the home; three sons, Roger L. Sahlin, Gray, Tom H. Sahlin, Gray, and Terry (& Elizabeth) Sahlin, Alpharetta, GA; one daughter, Katherine Sahlin, Johnson City; one grandson, Matthew Gil; and one granddaughter, Brandi Rose; three sisters, Maxine Gould, Coca Beach, FL, Hope Carter, Boones Creek, and Lottie Burleson, of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2005 in the South Chapel of Morris - Baker Funeral Home. Dr. Jim Richter will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at noon. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to the U.S. National Cemetery at Mt. Home for 1:00 PM committal service. Active pallbearers will be: Alf Taylor, Wile Bowman, David Jenkins, Kenneth Miller, Joe Reid, II, and Dr. Richard McDavid.
