Louise Whitson, age 84, Limestone, passed away peacefully at her home on April 10, 2025. She was born in Burnsville, North Carolina to the late Ben and Grace Styles. Louise was a longtime member, Sunday school teacher, and leader of "Willing Workers" at Westside Christian Church in Jonesborough.
Louise's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. She never met a stranger and had the gift of hospitality. She was a true caretaker in every sense of the word, from her family to the elderly. She loved to garden, can vegetables, and plant flowers. Gatherings at her home were anticipated and enjoyed by many for decades. You were guaranteed never to leave her house hungry.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband of 61 years, Bill Whitson, an infant son, Christopher, granddaughter, Emily Beth Whitson; and brothers, Henry, Lee, Phillip, and Bill Styles.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Melanie Warden of Gray, grandchildren, Caleb and Chelsey, Maddie and Colton; her son, Jeff Whitson and wife Lori, grandchildren, Ashley and Aaron, Taylor and Amanda; her daughter, Susie Wolfe and husband Todd, grandchildren Delanie and Nathan, and Haley and Michael; great-grandchildren: Kimber, Ella, Laurel, Maple, Cason, Lincoln, Cohen, Millie, and Livie, her sister, Faye Ballard, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Westside Christian Church, 1405 Persimmon Ridge Rd, Jonesborough, TN 37659, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
