Louvenia Presley Davis

Louvenia Presley Davis, 82, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a lifelong resident Washington County, daughter of the late John Walter Presley and Mary Naomi Franklin Presley. Louvenia was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Sweet and stubborn, she will be remembered as someone who would do anything to help a person who needed it. She was a wonderful mother, always checking in on her children and making sure they were taken care of. She was also a fantastic Mamaw, and made many wonderful memories with her grandchildren. The whole family knew the joy of her cooking and baking, always ready to help out in the kitchen to get a taste of apple butter, holiday candies, or her special desserts.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas Henry Davis; and siblings, Betty Cole, Lizabeth Fahey, Susan Carver, Doris Blankenship, Mae Deloach, Bill Presley, Buster Presley, and Robert Presley.

Those left to cherish her memory include: daughters, Diane Verble and husband Dennis, Jane Byrd, Debra Davis, Sandra Osborne and husband Carl; sons, Ricky Davis, Randy Davis and wife Dollie, Jeffrey Davis and wife Tammy, Tommy Davis and Danny Davis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special neighbor, Jean Hawkins; and beloved dog, Jingles.

The family of Louvenia Davis will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Scott Hayes. The following day, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesborough. Those attending are asked to gather at the graveside by 10:50 AM. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Diane Verble after the burial.
