Lynda Sue Gibson Peters, age 62 of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on May 22, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born on June 13, 1961, to Billie Joe and Iva Lee Gibson in Johnson City, Tennessee. Lynda was saved at an early age and was of the Baptist Faith.
Lynda was the true meaning of "Caretaker" by her expressions of selfless love to others and most importantly her family. She always wished for love and happiness for her family and friends. Some of the fondest memories with Lynda are camping at Dennis Cove and spending time in the mountains.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Faye Greene, brother, Matt Gibson, and friend Crystal Carver Julian.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of almost 30 years, Darrell Peters, daughters, Jessica Hyatt and Tracie Peters, sons, Daniel Hyatt and Eddie Peters, and a special grandson, Tyler Blevins whom she raised as a son; grandchildren, Jasmine Carty, Kayla Thomas, Tiffany Chisholm, Katy Collins, Justin Peters, and Kaleb Collins, two great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Khloe Chisholm, sisters, Kathy (Jerry) Fair, Connie (Jerry) Dunbar, and Carolyn (James) Woods, special friends Shertika and Jeff Hipshire, and Krystal Roark, as well as a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 5pm until 7pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm with Pastor, Terry Barnett officiating.
