Lynn S. Townsend

Lynn Shipley Townsend, 80, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late John C. and Cora Shipley Townsend. Lynn was a maintenance worker for 21 years at the Tennessee State Highway Garage. He was a member and deacon at the Cash Hollow Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: his half sister, Geneva Lykins of Richmond, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; two cousins Ann Lee Oliver, David Ross 'Johnny'? Nave and a special cousin, Mary Alice Hodge; special friends closer than brothers, Tom and Danny Wilson. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Jason Housewright. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. and at other times at the residence of Danny Wilson, 628 Cash Hollow Road, Johnson City. A committal service will be conducted on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession by 9:15 a.m. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
