Mrs. Mabel Catherine Schumann McFeature, 92, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Born in 1923 in Millard, Nebraska, Mrs. McFeature was the daughter of the late Hans and Dora Rathmann Schumann. She received her Associates Degree in Business Administration. She worked for the Pentagon during World War II and was stationed in Japan. Mrs. McFeature retired from the VA Medical Center after more than 44 years of government service. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis McFeature; and three brothers, Alfred, Leslie, and Herman Schumann. Survivors include: five children, Taunja Bogart and her husband Robert of Limestone, Bill McFeature and his wife Cindy of St. George, Utah, Toni Stone, Terri McFeature and Linda Feuchtenberger of Johnson City; five grandchildren, Mia Patrick and her husband Franklin, Randi Feuchtenberger, Heather Feuchtenberger, Cody Archer and his wife Morgan, and Chad Archer; one great grandchild, Rylan Archer; one sister, Leona McElveen and her husband Archie; special family friend, Anne Bradford; and beloved dogs, Herbie and Oscar. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Amedisys Hospice. A graveside inurnment service is scheduled for 11 am Thursday, June 2, 2016 at East Tennessee Cemetery in Blountville. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker at 10 am Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Pastor Kirby Hill will be officiating the service.
