Manning Scott White

October 12, 1963 — April 23, 2011

Manning 'Scott'? White of Gray, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Spartanburg, SC, son of Wally White and the late Phyllis M. Welch. Scott was of the Baptist faith. He was owner and operator of White Appraisal Service of Kingsport for 20 years. Scott loved sports and had played football for East Tennessee State University. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Boyce and Myrtle White and his maternal grandparents, Manning and Gertrude Mason. Survivors include: his wife, Lisa Jones White of the home; his father, Wally White of Spartanburg, SC; a sister and brother-in-law, Charmayne and Jeff Wykel of Inman, SC; three nieces, Meghan McKinney of Inman SC, Haley and Laken Jones of Gray; two nephews, Josh Wykel of Inman, SC and Joe Jones of Gray; his mother-in-law, Helen Rose and her husband Dean of Johnson City; his father-in-law, Richard Jones of Knoxville and a special friend, Gerry Kelly. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Minister Lawton Jones. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A committal service will be conducted under the direction of Dr. Hank Williams, on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens in Boiling Springs, SC. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: the Scott White Memorial Fund, c/o Elizabethton Federal, 112 N. Sycamore St., Elizabethton, TN 37643.
