Margaret Ann Edwards

Margaret Ann Edwards, 79, 2913 Chatham Drive, Johnson City died Thursday, August 16, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Willie J. and Arizona Oaks Gouge. She was a retired staff person in the Comptrollers Office at East Tennessee State University. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Edwards is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William 'Bill'? Edwards in 1992; and one brother, Oliver Oaks. Survivors include: one son, Larry Edwards of Denver, CO; one daughter, Janice Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Wilma Neubach of Winston Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Johnathan Elrod of Whidbey Island, WA, Jason Elrod of Hawaii and Katie Tromba of Raleigh, NC; a special friend, Gilmer Marcus. The funeral service for Margaret Ann Edwards will be conducted at 5 PM Saturday, August 18, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 1:30 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 3 to 5 PM Saturday, prior to the service. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Salvation Army, 208 Ashe Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 in memory of Margaret Edwards.
