Mrs. Margaret Ann Lindsay, age 83, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Lindsay was a native of Knoxville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Chester Alice Cagle Sanders. Also preceding her in death Ted A. Lindsay, Jr., her husband of thirty-eight years; two brothers, Paul Sanders and James Sanders; one son-in-law, Rick Coram. She was active for years at Central Baptist Church during her years in Johnson City. Margaret resided in Knoxville for twenty-five years in the latter part of her life before returning recently to Johnson City. She enjoyed the friendships she made in the Knox County school system. Survivors include four children, Debbie Coram, Melanie Schallock and her husband Frank, Ted Lindsay III and his wife Rhonda and Kevin Lindsay and his wife Rebecca; five grandchildren, Samuel Schallock, Lindsay Coram, Megan Coram, Sarah Lindsay Nutter and Alex Lindsay; four great grandchildren, Gabe Coram, Christian Nutter, Ava Nutter and Ansley Nutter. The family of Mrs. Margaret Ann Lindsay will receive friends from 5 to 6 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 at Central Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the Church at 6 PM. Rev. Mike Pelham will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10:30 AM Saturday in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Knoxville, TN. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 10:15 AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 3695, Johnson City, TN. 37602.
