Margaret Settle Conrey, aged 89, of 1916 Sherwood Dr., Johnson City, Tennessee, died Sunday, April 27th, 2008 at Johnson City Medical Center. Born in Glasgow, Kentucky, Mrs. Conrey was the daughter of the late Florence Drane Settle and the late Warren L. Settle. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. Mrs. Conrey was married for 63 years to the love of her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed shelling at Sanibel Island and playing bridge with friends. Mrs. Conrey was preceded in death by her husband Joseph William 'Jay'? Conrey in 2007 and her son, Phillip C. Conrey in 2004. She was also preceded by two brothers, Kenneth 'Jack'? Settle and William Settle and great grandchild, Autumn Rayne Combs in 2004. Survivors are one daughter, Carol Combs and her husband Mark of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Allison C. Pollard of Durham, North Carolina, Anthony Combs and his wife Nicole of Johnson City, Brandon Combs and his wife Terra of Johnson City, Laura Combs of Johnson City, Craig Conrey of Daytona Beach, Florida, Phillip Andrew 'Andy'? Conrey of Daytona Beach and Shawn Conrey of Daytona Beach. Great grandchildren are Cody Combs, Parrish Combs, Mariah Combs, Ireland Combs, Izaiah Hughes-Combs, all of Johnson City; Chance and Zoe Conrey of Daytona Beach, Justice, Timmy, Allyanna and Javae Pollard, all of Durham, North Carolina. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care given to Mrs. Conrey by her doctors, Dr. Keith Cook and Dr. James Blom and by the nurses on 2200, 7500 and 7400, especially Lori, Barbara, Heather and Sara. Funeral services for Mrs. Conrey will be held at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 28, 2008 in the South Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Baron Eliason will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 PM prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 1:00 PM on Thursday for graveside services and burial. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
