Margaret Lee Honeycutt

Margaret Lee Honeycutt, age 80, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 in the Lakebridge Healthcare Center. Mrs. Honeycutt was born in Bakersville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Lattie C. Sams, Sr., and Netia Stout Sams. She was a member of Hales Chapel Christian Church. Mrs. Honeycutt was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Honeycutt, one daughter, Susan Honeycutt, one sister, Marie Hughes, and one brother, Paul Sams. Mrs. Honeycutt is survived by two daughters, Teresa Shankle and husband Lynn, of Gray, TN and Linda Hall, of Johnson City; two sons, Robert Honeycutt and Steve Honeycutt and wife Delorise, both of Johnson City; twelve grandchildren, Susan Depriest, Lisa Combs, David Honeycutt, Robin Epling, Brandy Honeycutt, Eric Hall, B.J. Hall, Tara Tilson, Damian Hall, Heather Bennett, Joy Sell and Aaron Shankle; twenty great grandchildren; one great great-grandson; two brothers, Robert Sams, of Michigan and Lattie Sams, Jr., of Hickory, NC; one sister, Edith Jet Ratliff, of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday evening, December 8, 2010 in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 9, 2010 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Chaplain Dwight MacPherson officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Thursday at 1:45 pm.
