Margaret Louise Sexton

Margaret Louise Sexton, 73, formerly of Johnson City, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late George S. and Ruby Vestula Britt Taylor. She attended the Salvation Army Church in Johnson City. Margaret was a homemaker, loving mother who had patience with her children and grandchildren. She was fair and caring, loved to travel and enjoyed going to garage sales. Margaret would put her heart and soul into any endeavor. She was a Salvation Army volunteer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil G. Sexton, Sr. in 20001, a son, Michael L. Taylor and a brother, Arnold Taylor. Survivors include: four sons, David W. Dawson and Kenneth Dawson both of Johnson City, Gary E. Styles of Jonesborough and Gaylon V. Sexton, Jr. of Nashville; two daughters, Phyllis A. Ingram of Johnson City and Tammy M. Broome of Saraland, AL; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a nephew. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Major Grady Pearson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 8:00 p.m. A solo will be performed by Captain Jeanne Shannon. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Mt. Home National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 1:30 p.m. at Morris '' Baker Funeral Home to leave in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Phillip Sexton, Dillon Dawson, Jordan Miller, Christopher Rowe, Jamie Taylor, Carl Whitson, Steven Toney and Justin Morabito. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kenneth Dawson, Captain Thomas Broome and James Ingram. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: The Salvation Army, Johnson City Corps, 206 Ashe Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 or the Salvation Army of Saraland, 31 Hwy. 43 South, Saraland, AL 37651.
