Marianne Hale Deneen

Marianne Hale Deneen, 72, of Johnson City, entered into the presence of her savior, Jesus, at dawn on Monday, July 11, 2016 at NHC HealthCare Center. Marianne was a Johnson City native. She was the daughter of the late Emory and Mary Posey Hale. Marianne enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and playing the piano. A lifelong homemaker, she was content spending time at home with family, cooking, baking, and gardening. She looked forward to lunch and laughter with her dear friends. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Fred Deneen III; five children, Walter Deneen and his wife Darla, Scott Deneen and his wife Suzy, Chris Deneen and his wife Susan, Josh Deneen and his wife Hitomi, and Ann-Marie Higdon and her husband Dennis; 11 grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, Micah Deneen, Emma Deneen, Andrew Deneen, Ellen Anne Deneen, Elizabeth Deneen, Kaili Deneen, Leo Deneen, Millie Higdon, Tess Higdon, and Hattie Higdon; two great grandchildren, Isabel and Josie Oluwadara; brother, Emory Hale and his wife Vola; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family of Marianne Hale Deneen will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm Wednesday under the direction of Pastor Tom Oyler. Family and friends will then proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for a 2 pm committal service.
