Marjorie Leach

August 18, 1935 — January 12, 2019

Marjorie Ewbank Leach was taken from her hospital bed into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2019, after the development of complications of the pneumonia she had battled for nearly a month. She was the daughter of Robert and Grace Ewbank, born on August 18, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Milligan College. While she was attending Northwestern University as a physical therapy student, she met Eddie Leach, a medical student there. They were married on January 3, 1959 and had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Margy was always very dedicated to her Lord and Savior and served Him in many capacities: as a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always very active in Bible study and teaching, especially to young people in the various churches she attended from Chicago to Texas, Maryland, and finally in Tennessee. Uncountable numbers of her students were led to Christ and to serve him both as individuals in their lives, and as those who entered ministry in various vocational ways. She was never happier than when she was caring for and ministering to young people. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by those she leaves behind: her husband, Eddie Leach; four children, Daniel and wife Kimberly, Steven and wife Debra, Linda and husband David Giles, Susan and husband Steve Steinman. In addition, she leaves eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, one step great grandchild, a sister, Kathy Horn and husband Mike of Rochester, Indiana, and many very dear friends. Internment will take place in the Washington County Memory Gardens in a private family ceremony. A memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the missionary work of two of her grandchildren: Craig and Katy Bennett, who are working with Pioneer Bible Translators in the island nation of Vanautu, and/or David Adam and Allison Giles, working with Christian Missionary Fellowship in Ethiopia.
