Martha Broyles Edwards

Martha Broyles Edwards, 89, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Broadmore Assisted Living. Martha was a Washington County native and a daughter of the late Ross and Chloe Walters Broyles. She had worked as a custodian at ETSU and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edgar R. Edwards, and two brothers, Edwin and Eugene Broyles. Survivors include: two children, Kay Jones and her husband David, and Eddie Edwards and his wife Robin; four grandchildren, Douglas Sparks and his wife Tracy, Becky Keplinger and her husband Glen, Zachary Edwards and his wife Brooke, and Jacob Edwards; four great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter, Ava; sister, Kathleen McCurry; and many nieces and nephews. The family of Martha Broyles Edwards will receive friends from 6 pm to 7 pm Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm Monday in the chapel under the direction of Dr. Grant Jones. The committal service is scheduled for 11 am Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am Tuesday for those services.
