Marvin E. Walters, 72, of Jonesborough, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City. He was a native of Washington County and was a son of the late C. H. and Frances Carrier Walters. Mr. Walters was a member of the Johnson City Baptist Temple. He was the former operator of the Midway Market in Jonesborough. He had worked in the Maintenance Department for the Greeneville City Schools. Survivors include; two sons, Marvin Todd Walters and his wife Linda of Johnson City and Anthony Shockley and his wife Jordonna of Jonesborough; one daughter, Tami Walters of Johnson City; one grandson, Clay Walters; one granddaughter, Anissa Shockley; one sister, Peggy Francis of Jonesborough; four brothers, Robert Walters of Washington, DC, Jerry Walters of PA, Ted Walters of Johnson City and Danny Walters of Brunswick, MD; several nieces, nephews, friends and cousins. Mr. Walters loved camping and Nascar Racing. A special thanks to the Nursing Staff of 2300 and the 2nd floor of the Johnson City Medical Center, his physical therapist, Debbie, his Occupational Therapist, Travis and his Speech Therapist, Robin. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Wilkie Brookshire will officiate. Burial services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday from the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am on Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
