Marvin Eugene Baker, 68, of Jonesborough, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Mary Wanda Collins Baker. Marvin was a drywall installer and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to work with his hands, be outdoors, spend time with his grandchildren and tell stories they enjoyed hearing. In addition to his parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife Jennie Scott Baker of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Woody and Michelle Baker of Johnson City and Shane and Kristy Baker of Sulpher Springs; a daughter, Lora Ann Walters of Jonesborough; a brother, Louis Baker of Johnson City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Danny Osborne of Maryville and Debbie and J. R. Woods of Johnson City; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:30 pm in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Bobby Anderson. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until time of service at 1:30 pm. A committal service will be conducted following the funeral service at the Washington County Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm in the mausoleum chapel. Active pallbearers will be: Woody, Shane, Dustin, Logan, Landon and Darren Baker.
