Mary Alice Furches

Mary Alice Mottern Furches, 83, Gray, died Sunday, November 09, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Furches was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Horace and Bessie Carter Mottern and was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Furches. Mrs. Furches was retired from the Washington County School System. She was a charter member of Boones Creek United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Furches, Gray; her son, Charles Furches and his wife, Sharon, Richlands, VA; three grandchildren, Lorie Batterman and her husband, Chris, Andrea Bowman and Jessica Furches; two great grandchildren, William Henry Bowman and Sean Bowman and her second daughter, Ginell Cradic. A funeral service for Mrs. Furches will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Kenneth Lytton will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Jonesborough, TN. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Boones Creek United Methodist Church, 110 Mary Street, Johnson City, TN 37615.
