Mary Ann Sutphin

Mary Ann Sutphin, 79, of Johnson City, passed away February 18, 2018 at Agape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and the daughter of the late Charles and Nancy Davidson. Mary graduated from Happy Valley High School. During her working life she worked for Mor-Flo as a secretary and later at K-Mart as a jewelry consultant. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. Mary?s love for her children ran deep and she found great joy in her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and had a great love of music. Mary is survived by: two sons, Ronnie Sutphin, and his wife Rita, and Jimmy Sutphin; one daughter, Teresa Hanger, and her husband Jerry; two grandchildren, Heather Sye and Jacob Hanger; one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Sye; and one sister, Iris Cogburn, all of Johnson City. The family of Mary Sutphin would like to thank the caring individuals of Agape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Caris Hospice for the excellent care and comfort they provided. A graveside committal service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Mr. Bobby Davis will be officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the graveside by 1:45 PM.
