“Remember me with laughter, not tears!”

Mary Ann Whitson, 78, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Lakebridge.

Mary was a member of Trinity Assembly of God for over 50 years. She worked as a CNA at Northside Hospital, Greystone Healthcare Center and Lakebridge, for over 20 years.

Mary was preceded in death by: her husband of over 30 years, Bill Whitson; one daughter, Lorie Ann Hodges; one son, Faron Stevenson; her mother, Ada Lucille Arwood; and a very special aunt, Octavia Anna Arwood.

Survivors include: six children, David Hodges, Steve Hodges (Tammy), Lisa Whitson, Billy Whitson, Rita Sexton (Jim) and Marty Stevenson; seven grandchildren, Stephen Hodges, Jessica Hodges, Heather Easterly (Craig), Holly Davis, Brandon Boles (Jama), Synthia Waggoner and Neal Stevenson; several great grandchildren; and one uncle, James Frank “Uncle J” Arwood.

Special thank you to the nursing staff of the 400 hall at Lakebridge for their care. Also, thank you to a very special friend, Phyllis Byrd.

The family of Mary Ann Whitson will receive friends from 4 PM until 6 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 6 PM with Pastor Ken Jefferies and Rev. Dwight McPhearson officiating. The committal service will be held at 10 AM on Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM.
