Mary Hollyfield, 54, of Johnson City, wife of Jeff Hollyfield, died Monday, October 12, 2015. She was a daughter of Wilda and Wesley Wilson of Jonesborough and sister to JB, Melinda, Christopher and Nathan. Mary was a graduate of David Crockett High School, Berea College and did post graduate study in Early Childhood Development at UNCG, Greensboro, NC, also the University of Tennessee. Mary was a deeply devoted teacher of children all of her working years, beginning that career at the Early Learning Center in Johnson City and ending it in 2014 after many years in Johnson City Schools as Librarian at Southside Elementary, having been honored as Teacher of the Year during her tenure there. Mary was of Anglican faith, growing up in the Episcopal Church in Johnson City where she and Jeff were united in marriage. Her faith endured all her life journey. She and Jeff enjoyed trips to the mountains, to the beach and especially a vacation to Italy a few years ago. Her most cherished legacy to her loved ones will be the memories of her warm smile and unfaltering love. Thanks to all for support, care and concern. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Rev. Randy Bower.
