Mary E. Bowers

Ms. Mary E. Bowers, age 77, 500 E Mountain View Road, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011, at her residence. Ms. Bowers was a native of Bristol, Virginia who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Amanda Bowers. In addition to her parents one brother, Bobby Bowers, also preceded her in death. Ms. Bowers retired from Texas Instruments as well as North Electric. She was a faithful member of Harvest Time Baptist Church where she loved playing the piano and singing in the choir. Survivors include: one sister, Carol Barker and her husband John of Piney Flats; two brothers, Harmon Bowers and his wife Isabelle of Johnson City and Rondal Bowers and his wife Jean of Gray; a sister-in-law Jackie Bowers, several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Ms. Mary E. Bowers will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, April 17, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Ron Adams and nephew Rev. Jeff Rasnick will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2 PM Monday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Caleb Rasnick, Micah Rasnick, Brock Burgess, Ben Burgess, Bryson Burgess and Brandi Hurd. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 PM Monday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Harvest Time Baptist Church, 2404 Roseberry Lane, Johnson City, Tn 37604.
