Mary Elizabeth Gurley

Mary Elizabeth Gurley, 78 of 182 Green Pond Road, formerly of 1410 E. Chilhowie Ave, Johnson City died Thursday, September 17, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Gurley was a native and resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Weaver. Mrs. Gurley was a member of the Grace Free Will Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved to cook. The family have many wonderful memories of Sunday lunch and holiday meals at the home of Mrs. Gurley. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Edward R. Gurley in 1992; one brother and four sisters; and a grandson, Donald Inabinett. Survivors include: one son and a daughter''in-law, John and Delores Gurley of Johnson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joe Vanadore of Taylor, S.C.; six grandchildren, Kim Burleson, Tina Leach, Michael Inabinett, Donna Sue Humphrey, Bill Holsclaw, and Crystal Jenkins; three great grandchildren, Corey and Clay Jenkins, and Noah Holsclaw. The funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Gurley will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, September 19, 2009 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Curtis Hurt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Inabinett, Terry Davis, Bill W. Holsclaw,Bill Greer, Scott Emmert and Troy Garland. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 1 to 2 PM Saturday prior to the service.
