Mary Ellen Mosier Baskett

Mary Ellen Mosier Baskett, 79, Jonesborough, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Life Care Center of Gray. She was a Madison County, NC native and long time resident of the Johnson City area. Mary was the daughter of the late Clarence Cleveland and Eunice Roxanna Hill Mosier. In addition to her parents, her first husband, Jackie Robert Poarch, preceded her in death. Mary graduated from Jonesborough High School. She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. She was in the Gideon Bible Sunday School Class, and was also a part of the churchs cancer ministry and card ministry. Survivors include: her husband of nearly 49 years, Harold Baskett; one son, Terry Robert Poarch; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Christopher Poarch; two step children, Terry Southern and Deborah McClain; four step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; three siblings, Jack Mosier and his wife Virginia, Betty Byrd and her husband Billy, and Joe Mosier and his wife Janice; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mary Ellen Baskett will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, May 19, 2014 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Monday in the North Chapel. Dr. Jody Jenkins will officiate. The committal service will follow in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the Baskett family requests memorial donations be made to the Mission Fund at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, 197 Suncrest St., Gray, TN 37615
