Mary Feathers Hampton

Mary Nelle Feathers Hampton, 96, of Montgomery, AL, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home. Born in Watauga, TN, she led a full life. Beloved mother and grandmother, gifted gardener, graduate of East Tennessee State University, former elementary school teacher, and one of the first civilian Pentagon employees in WWII. Mary is preceded in death by: her husband, James Webb Hampton; one son, James; and one daughter, Beverly. Survivors include: one daughter, Mary; four sons, Glenn and his wife Anne Marie, Wade and his wife Stephanie, Geoffrey and his wife Eileen, and William and his wife Theresa; three nieces; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pastor?s Discretionary Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery. Family and friends are asked to meet at Monte Vista Memorial Park on Thursday, February 11, 2016 for 11:00 AM graveside services.
