Mary Hyder Bishop, 83, formerly of Johnson City, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mrs. Bishop was the daughter of the late Joe Fred and Minnie Ruth Baker Hyder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. David C. Bishop in 1980, and a sister, Fannie Millhorn in 2008. Mrs. Bishop was a longtime member of the Tacoma Church of God. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Jerry Sartain of Johnson City; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jennifer and Jamie Pealer of Lawrence, KS; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jerry and Carrie Sartain of Johnson City; a great grandson, Jacob Austin Pealer; two great granddaughters, Elle Kate Sartain and Madison Rose Sartain; two sisters, Mildred Kelley and Wanda Carr of Piney Flats; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home from 6 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. The funeral service will follow in the North Chapel under the direction of Rev. Art Webb. Committal services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to assemble to at the cemetery by 9:45 a.m.
