Mary L. Lester

Mary L. Lester, loving mother and devoted pastor?s wife, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 20, 2018, after an extended battle with polycystic kidney disease. She was born January 7, 1956 to the late Jack Burks and Betty (Lafferty) Burks Blevins, of Baileysville, WV. She was a graduate of Baileysville High School, Class of 1974. She graduated Southwest Virginia Community College in 1992 with a degree in Radiologic Technology. She was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Rev. Herbert L. Blevins, of Midway, WV. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, the love of her life, Rev. Randall Lester, Sr., a son, Randy Lester, Jr, of Atlanta, GA and a daughter, Sarah (John) Delph of Blountville, TN, and special friends, Lee and Bernice Smith, sisters, Karen Lancaster, Jackie (Kevin) Higginbotham and Tammy (Kenneth) Blevins Truman a brother, Wiley Blevins. Special friends, Lee and Bernice Smith, as well as a host of extended family, church family, friends, and neighbors, to cherish and honor her memory. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Piney Flats First Baptist Church. A funeral service is scheduled for 8:00 pm under the direction of Dr. Allen Davis and Dr. Art Webb. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2018, 11:00 am at the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Mark Lester, John Delph, John Henry Delph, Kevin Higginbotham, Michael Hayes and Lee Smith. Honorary pallbearer: PVT Michael Totten.
