Mary Lee Holmes

Mary Lee Holmes, 70 of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, May 23,2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center.She was a native and lifelong Johnson City resident and a daughter of the late, Joe and Pansy McFall Vanover. Mrs. Holmes was a member of the House of Prayer in Johnson City.She was a former employee of Southeast IndustriesSurvivors include; her husband, Walter Holmes; two daughters, Sadie Grover and Debbie Hayes both of Johnson City; three sons, James Ross Holmes, Joe Holmes and Ricky Lynn Holmes all of Johnson City; four sisters, Viola Barnett and Phyllis Nelson both of Johnson City, Betty Robertson of Jonesborough and Judy Taylor of Gray.; one brother, Wayne Vanover of Jonesborough; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 28. 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Gary Barnett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jonesborough. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
