Mary Lena Huff

Mary Lena Huff, 91, of Johnson City died Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of McDowell County, NC, daughter of the late Todd McKinley and Bessie Hollifield Greene. Mary was a retired Registered Nurse and taught nursing in both Johnson City and Elizabethton for many years. She was an active member of her beloved church, Unaka Avenue Baptist Church, who remained active in many committees and activities. In addition to her parents, her husband, James A. Huff; three brothers, Finley, Ray and Jack Greene all preceded her in death. Survivors include her two sisters, Margaret Ann Greene, Joyce (Jimmy Ray) Byrd, three sisters-in-law, Betty Greene, Norma Greene and Mary Lou Greene; nieces, Mary Jo Schism, Debi Greene, Lisa Greene, Whitney Norris; nephews, Jim Greene, Mark Byrd and Kenneth Greene; several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service is to follow in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Mark Ray Byrd. A committal service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park at 3:00 pm. A reception to follow in the Community Room at Morris-Baker.
