Mary Matney

Mary Matney, 76, of #7 Caitlin Court, Johnson City, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Appalchian Christian Village. She was a native of Fort Gay, West Virginia and a daughter of the late Ronald and Helen Montgomery Ratliff. Mary was a retired credit manager for 15 years at Memorial Hospital and and agent for the Eqitable Life Insurance Agency for 15 years. She was a member of the Unaka Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna June Dales. Survivors include: her husband, Leonard Matney of the home, three sisters, Gay Carr of Erwin, Janice Perry of Ohio and Ramona Ballard of Ohio; a brother, Rick Ratliff of Ohio and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, March 31, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Steve Whitt. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted in the mausoleum chapel of the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
