Mary Nell Rader

Mary Nell Rader, 96, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina, November 8,1915, she has been a resident of Johnson City since 1925. She was a daughter of Sam Morris and Lee Anna Ledford, and sister of Earl Ledford, Mae Franklin, Bertie Hicks, Lou Texie Lipps, William (Rob) Ledford, Pearl Jacobson, Albert (Jack) Ledford and Morris Ledford, all deceased. Mary Nell was also preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Rader, and daughters Christine (Durham) White and Joyce (Durham) Ouzts. She is survived by daughter Delores (Durham) Crowe, Johnson City, and son Bill Durham, Johnson City. She had ten grandchildren, two of whom are deceased. She retired from Leon-Ferenbach, Inc. after forty-three years, and was also employed at Kingsports Holston Defense during World War II. Mary Nell was a member of Liberty Fellowship Church. The funeral service for Mary Nell Rader will be conducted at 7 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Dan Foster will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM Wednesday, to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
