Mary Ruth Freeman

Mary Ruth Freeman, 89, of Johnson City died Friday, December 19, 2008 at her residence following a lengthy time of declining health. Mrs. Freeman was a native of Greene County and had resided in Johnson City most of her life. She was a daughter of the late George and Ethel Lafollette Milligan. Mrs. Freeman was a beautician and carpenter and was the owner and operator of the Midway Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by: her husband Ernest Freeman in 1972; and by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Freeman of the home; two sisters, Betty Hicks of Jonesborough and Jeanette Hodge of Piney Flats; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3:15 PM Sunday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Michael Lester and Rev. Charles Griffith will officiate. Music will be by Jerry Barnett. Everyone will meet at the cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Munsey Memorial UMC, 201 E. Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37601
