Mrs. Mary 'Ruth' Pinkston, 100, of Bulls Gap Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in the NHC HealthCare Johnson City Tennessee. Mrs. Pinkston resided her whole life in the town and community she loved so much Bulls Gap, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Ed Walker and Rachel Loretta McCullough Walker. In addition to her parents, her husband, William H. Pinkston; one son, Billy Don Pinkston; six sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Pinkston was a homemaker, an avid gardener, and a member of the Bulls Gap Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Pinkston; three grandchildren, Mark Pinkston and his wife Becky; Mary Pinkston Vaughn and Martha Pinkston Grant and her husband Doug; six great grandchildren, Adam Vaughn and his wife Erika, Sara Reiser and her husband Clay, Aaron Vaughn, Andrew Grant, Emma Grant and Alex Pinkston; three great great grandchildren, Will Reiser, Bella Reiser and AJ Vaughn. Several nieces, their spouses and families also survive her. The family would like to express a special thank you to Caris Hospice and Jennifer Farnor for their special care during the last several months of her life. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday prior to the service. The funeral service for Mrs. Mary Ruth Pinkston will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday February 26, 2011 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Dr. Reggie Weems will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Vaughn, Aaron Vaughn, Andrew Grant, Alex Pinkston, Clay Reiser, and Doug Grant. Special music will be provided by Ken Hecht, seniors pastor at Heritage Baptist Church, Jim and Sandra Palmer, and Ken Helton.
