Mary Ruth Ramsey, 77, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an illness. Mrs. Ramsey was a native of Greene County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late L. C. and Vesta Shelton LaFollette. She was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Ramsey had been a L.P.N. at the Johnson City Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jack LaFollette, Junior LaFollette, and Billy LaFollette; and one sister, Thelma LaFollette. Survivors include: her husband, H. M. 'Mink' Ramsey, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and John Salyers, Johnson City, and Connie and Michael Vaughn, Telford; one sister, Elizabeth Jones, Johnson City; a granddaughter and her husband, Heather and David Hughes, Chattanooga; and four nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2005 from the South Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Crowe and Rev. Willard Wilcox will officiate. A committal service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005 in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Glen Hughes, Blaine Ford, Sherman McInturff, Ricky Hughes, Buster Bare, Mike Bare and Kevin Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bobby Keller, Bud Jones, Terry Dean Jones, Dick Jones, Jody Jones and Bud Collins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
