Mary Chaplin, age 90, passed away March 15, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Lancaster County, S.C. on November 10, 1925 to the late Robert and Maggie Varnadore. She was one of God?s humble servants. She was described by a friend as a ?great lady'. She was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a leader in her church and in her community. She and her husband lived in Florence, S.C. before moving to Oxford, N.C. where they lived for 30 years. She was a wonderful cook, a great seamstress, an avid gardener, a lover of books, and a strong organizer. She was always doing loving things for her family, friends, and people in the community. She so very much enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed but leaves her family with many wonderful memories of a life well lived. She is now at peace with her Lord.
