Mary Wave Lovelace Day born in Troutdale, Virginia November 5, 1920 to Birtie and Arthur G. Lovelace. Married November 5, 1938 to Maynard 'Buster'? Day, she lived in Johnson City most of her life. Mary Wave was a member of Princeton Presbyterian Church for more than Fifty-five years. Wave as her family and friends called her, loved the Lord, Princeton Church, her husband, her family and friends. Mrs. Day is preceded in death by her mother and father; one son, John A. Day; one great granddaughter. Survivors include: her husband, Maynard E. 'Buss'? Day of the home; one daughter, Mary Jane and her husband Ronald Lee Morris, Sr. of Pflugerville, Texas; two sons, Maynard 'Bud'? Day of Erwin and Dennis A. Day of Johnson City; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two step great grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mary Wave Lovelace Day will be conducted at 7 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. J. Andrew White will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the funeral chapel at 9:45 AM Thursday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be: Ronald Morris, Sr., Ronald Morris, Jr., Shawn Day, Seth Day, John Day, Jr. and Jeff Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Dinkins, members from the church and Randy Day. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Princeton Presbyterian Church, 2703 East Oakland Avenue, Johnson City Tn. 37601.
