Maude Ferguson Nance (91), of Kingsport, Tennessee, (formerly of Johnson City, Tennessee) entered into the presence of Jesus on Friday, April 27, 2007, after a brief illness. Maude was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved the Lord and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a life long member of Watauga First Church of God where she taught Sunday School for many years.She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Linnia Roe Ferguson; husband, Berley F. Nance; brothers, Joe, Arthur, and James Ferguson; and sisters, Sarah Grindstaff and Lillian Crumley. Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Smith and her husband, Paul, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Linda Miller and her husband, Robert, of Gray, Tennessee; and one son, Joe Nance and his wife, Victoria, of Kingsport, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Brian Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, and Brent Smith of Lexington, Kentucky; four great grandsons, Luke, Westley, Reid, and Blake Smith. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. -- 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City, TN. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with Reverend Sam Ferguson and Dr. Nila Tolliver. The committal and interment will be held after the funeral service in the Garden of Peace at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Ferguson, David Ferguson, Ed Skeans, James Ray, Wallace Phipps, and Jerry Fleenor. The family would like to say a special thanks to all the staff and residents at The Place of Kingsport Assisted Living for their kindness, friendship, and care.
