Maybelle Street

Maybelle Street, 83, 906 Afton Street, Johnson City, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in the NHC Health Care Center. Mrs. Street was a native of Johnson City who lived in Baltimore, Maryland from 1951 to 1983 and returned+ to Johnson City in 1983. She was the daughter of the late Wilburn R. and Minnie Lewis Blevins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, David H. Street; one daughter, Deborah June Street;and one brother, James W. Blevins. Mrs. Street was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: one daughter, Beverly Honeycutt of Johnson City; two sons, Carroll Lynn Hughes of Baltimore, Maryland and Larry Dean Hughes and wife Debbie of Syracuse, New York; one sister, Louise Downes of Johnson City; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Maybelle Street will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, September 7, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Bob Edmonds will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park.Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Grandsons. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service.
