Melba Ester Huff Lowe (?Granny Huff'), 89, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Granny Huff was a native of Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Neil Ball and Myrtle Foister. Granny Huff was a member of Midway Baptist Church for 22 years. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed doing alterations and quilting. As Granny Huff would say herself, she is ?sewing somewhere' in Heaven. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband (of 46 years), Robert F. Huff; second husband (of 22 years), Gale Lowe; and half brother, Walter G. Ball. Survivors include: two children, Robert F. Huff II and Karen Mazzei and her husband Gregg; three grandchildren, Bobby Huff, Michael Huff, and Steven Butler and his wife Catherine; two great grandchildren, Dalton and Corbyn Butler; two brothers, Robert Ball and his wife Florence and Bob Huff and his wife Barbara; special friends, Carolyn Hathaway, Ronda Forrester, and Jayne Street; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family of Melba Ester Huff Lowe will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm Friday, August 5, 2016 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm Friday with Rev. William ?Bill' Taylor officiating. A committal service is scheduled for 10 am Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Bob Huff, Bobby Huff, Michael Huff, Steven Butler, Dalton Butler, and Smokey Gobble. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker at 9:15 am Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the nursing staff of Johnson City Medical Center, especially Mike, Jessica, Simone, Kelli, and Julie, and to hospice nurse Mike for their compassion and care.
