Merle Virginia Price

August 13, 1920 — March 27, 2008

Merle Virginia Price, formerly of of 420 Highland Avenue, Johnson City, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Asbury Place. She was a native of Lenoir City and daughter of the late Earl Homer and Lora Malone Price. Merle was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church where she had been active in voluntary library work, Lona Akard Sunday School Class, Senior Adults and Night Bible Fellowship. She was retired from Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, where she had served as surgical secretary and Accredited Medical Record Technician for 32 years. She also was a former member of the Business and Professional Womens Club and the Unaka Rock and Mineral Society. Survivors include: her cousins, Ramsey Pollard and Pat Pollard of Elizabethton and many friends including special friends the T. P. Copeland family of Johnson City. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. under the direction of Rev. Bill Warfield in the Breazeale Cemetery in Lenoir City. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Church Media Library, Central Baptist Church, 300 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 or the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
