Michael Fredrick Tucker, 58, of 500 E. 10th Avenue, Johnson City, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Matthew Tucker and Mrs. Jean Smith Tucker. Michael was a former member of the University of Tennessee Swim Team, the Wytheville Jaycees and the Wytheville Golf Club. He was an East Tennessee State University graduate and member of the Central Baptist Church. Michael was a former partner in the Tucker Pontiac/Buick Inc., Wytheville, Virginia and Courtesy Motors in Erwin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Ann Sanders. Survivors include: his mother, Jean S. Tucker of the home;a son, Michael Scott Tucker of Jonesborough; a brother, Matthew B. Tucker of the home; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter 'Rick'? and Brenda Tucker of Wytheville, Virginia and Robert T. 'Tommy'? and Ella Tucker of Ada, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Pastor Julia Tucker-Lloyd. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association and Memorial Honor Program, P. O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038-1132.
