George Michael “Mike” Stitcher, 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 suddenly.
He was born August 17th, 1946, to Fletcher Washington and Sara Frances Stitcher.
Mike was raised in Panama City, Florida where he graduated from Rutherford High School and was a drum major and basketball player. He also attended Gulf Coast College and University of Georgia.
He lived in Johnson City, TN and until last year, worked at Microporous LLC in Piney Flats, TN. Most recently he worked for Crown Battery Corp in Fremont, Ohio. He was an engineer.
Mike was loved by everyone that met him. He made friends everywhere he went. He was well travelled and lived a very adventurous life. He was passionate about the Yankees, NASCAR, Basketball and Alabama Crimson Tide Football, as well as politics and his work.
Mike is survived by his wife, Ginger Zoppi Stitcher, of Johnson City TN; daughter, Stephanie Stitcher, of Oceanside, CA; sisters, Donna Long and Linda Pelham, of Panama City, FL; and brother, Robert "Sam" Stitcher, of Clemmons, NC.
He has left us but will live forever in our hearts and memories.
Michael’s family invites you to share stories of remembrance on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service immediately following the visitation at 5:00 p.m., under the direction of Pastor Nathan Jennings.
The memorial service will livestreamed on the Morris-Baker website, under Michael’s obituary page, and it will be available to view for 90 days. There will be a reception following the memorial service in the Morris-Baker Hospitality Room.
